Caitlin Allen is an educator, plein air painter, and ceramic artist. She grew up in Topanga Canyon, California and St. Louis, Missouri before training and graduating from Rhode Island School of Design with a BFA in Illustration in 2010. She stepped into her current role as a high school art teacher at Principia School in 2013, and earned a Masters in Art Education from Boston University in 2017.
Since 2016, Caitlin has traveled to South Africa with the Simunye Project each March for 18 days of community service. Painting murals, building kitchens and key-hole gardens, and supporting health and education in Johannesburg and rural communities has been a life-changing effort.
She delights in vast skies, quiet trails, and summer blossoms in her small garden. She is currently based in St. Louis, Missouri, a great starting point for road trips and cross-continental adventures.
